Pumpkin Patches, Spirit Weeks, and Spooky Fun: InCommunity’s Fall Festivity Roundup
Fall always brings a shift in the air, but here at InCommunity it brings something even better: traditions, connection, and a whole lot of joy. This season was packed with moments that reminded us how powerful community can be when everyone shows up with kindness and spirit.
BHC Visits Midway UMC Pumpkin Patch
Each October, our BHC program makes its way to the Midway United Methodist Church pumpkin patch in Douglasville, GA. It has become a tradition we look forward to, and this year’s visit was no different. The volunteers at Midway UMC welcomed us with genuine warmth. They greeted everyone by name, helped folks explore the patch, and shared in the fun as our group searched for the perfect pumpkins.
The day was full of easy smiles, playful moments, and a sense of belonging. One of our parents captured photos throughout the trip, and those images tell the story better than any words. They show joy, connection, and the kind of simple moments that stay with you.
We are grateful for community partners like Midway UMC. Their support helps create experiences that go far beyond picking pumpkins. It builds community and reminds our individuals and staff how loved and included they are.
A Halloween Party Across Our Residences
Our fall celebrations continued with a multi residence Halloween party that brought everyone together for music, games, costumes, and conversation. It felt like a neighborhood block party filled with creative outfits and contagious laughter. It was more than a holiday gathering. It was a reminder that inclusion is not a concept here. It is our daily practice.
Art, Food, and Fall Fun at Yahoo Farms
The Art and Food Day Program also embraced the season with a trip to Yahoo Farms. Individuals picked pumpkins, explored the farm, and soaked in the full autumn experience. The week wrapped up with a Halloween Costume Party that showed off plenty of imagination. Spooky, silly, bold, and bright. Every costume had personality, and every moment had energy.
Spirit Week at the Unlimited Possibilities Center
The celebrations did not stop there. The Unlimited Possibilities Center hosted a full Spirit Week. Each day had its own theme. Plaid Day on Monday. Mismatch Day on Tuesday. Crazy Sock Day on Wednesday. NFL Day on Thursday. The week closed with a big Halloween party on Friday.
The UPC crew brought full enthusiasm to every theme. Lighthearted outfits filled the rooms and the excitement gave each day a fresh spark. From bold patterns to team pride to Halloween smiles, the creativity never slowed down.
A Season to Remember
This fall was packed with gatherings that lifted spirits and brought people together. Our individuals, staff, families, and partners embraced every moment. Their energy turned simple events into memories that matter.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this season unforgettable. At InCommunity, celebrations like these are more than events. They are a reflection of our purpose. We show up for one another, we include everyone at the table, and we make joy a shared experience.
