A Special Thank You to Our Direct Support Professionals (DSP)
We would like to recognize the patience, sacrifice, and dedication of all Direct Support Professionals – especially here at InCommunity. Direct Support Professionals are one of the most important positions that affect the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs offer companionship, entertainment, guidance, support, and protection to each individual in their care. Individuals and their families rely on the support of the DSPs to do things such as: eating, bathing, and getting dressed. Not only do they care for individuals in a private residential setting, but also in public environments. Our DSPs support individuals and their families by managing community inclusion activities like sporting events, cooking classes, finding employment, developing relationships, and the arts. Overall, Direct Support Professionals provide the physical, mental, and emotional support required for each individual to live a safe, healthy, and joyful lives in their communities.
InCommunity has 300+ Direct Support Professionals, yet over 1000+ individuals. The work required for our DSPs to manage so many individuals does not go unnoticed. Thank you to all outstanding DSPs who care, protect, and support each one of our individuals – whether in a residential setting or during one of our day programs. We truly admire your diligence, patience, and passion to help our individuals and their families daily.
