Recycled Art Project

As a friendly contest, InCommuity hosted a recycled art project, encouraging the individual's we support to be creative and to make functioning instruments out of recycled items found in their homes. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Congratulations to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners. The team of judges at Community Bucket said that they “were flabbergasted by the amount of detail, creativity, and teamwork showed by each house.” For that, they donated Grubhub gift cards! Way to set a good example in recycling and being creative!!!

IN FIRST PLACE:  The Bellingham Pineapple Guitar, for incredible execution, use of materials, attention to detail, and creative re-imagining of what a pineapple shaped guitar could look like. The judges were unanimously agreed & obsessing over this piece. Congratulations to the team!

IN SECOND PLACE: The Butterfield Drum and Baton Collection. We loved their use of color, their clear teamwork, and most of all that they gave us a video performance, so we could feel like we were there for a concert. Truly above and beyond—congratulations!

IN THIRD PLACE: The Grimes “Botcylophone.” Our judges felt strongly that the botcyclophone showed an incredible level of creative and practical thinking—AND had the best use of recycled materials. Look how many types of bottles were included! Incredible. We were also won over by the label of the notes that make it easy for anyone to play their favorite songs. And of course, the name. Unparalleled and prizeworthy.
